Advocacy & Empowerment
Since inception, YWCA Northern New Jersey has been dedicated to advocating for women and breaking down the systemic barriers they face daily. Our continual mission has been to support women on their paths to educational, career, and financial success and each of our programs aligns with this goal.

Creating Safe Workplaces in New Jersey Politics
YWCA Northern NJ produced an educational training video for political campaign staff to build awareness and provide resources to keep those working in NJ politics safe and free from sexual harassment and intimidation.

Women’s Empowerment Network (WEN) on the Go!

Our Women’s Empowerment Network quarterly leadership series includes WEN on the GO! Corporate, which is sponsored by leading area corporations committed to attracting, retaining, and developing talented women, and WEN on the GO! Small Business, which gives woman-owned companies, entrepreneurs, independent consultants, and gig workers ways to network, exchange ideas, and get actionable advice on growing their business. New! WEN on the GO, Financial Wellness Series, brings together experts from the financial world and mental health professionals to help women understand money, investments and more.

Motherhood Uncensored is designed to provide a safe place for working/stay-at-home moms to share advice and provide support on everyday issues.
Motherhood Uncensored: Make Self Care YOUR Priority

Join Mary Vidal, wife, mom, personal trainer, yoga & self massage instructor who will help you prioritize your needs and guide you to live a healthier lifestyle.

Circle of Care
Circle of Care is a 12-week support group for women in transition from the Edna Mahan Correctional Facility for Women for reentry into the community. This program is offered through a partnership with The New Jersey Reentry Corporation (NJRC), a non-profit agency with a social mission to remove all barriers to employment for citizens returning from incarceration.

Time is Now Action Coalition
Established by YWCA Northern New Jersey and NJ Assemblywoman Valerie Vainieri Huttle, this coalition is comprised of diverse government, business, labor, education, legal, faith-based, and non-profit leaders working closely with the community to formulate an action plan that supports the wave of people who stepped forward to say #MeToo.

Tribute to Women of INfluence (TWIN)

Tribute to Women of INfluence honors women who have excelled in their fields and made significant contributions to their organizations and to their communities. TWIN also gives businesses and organizations an opportunity to honor their highest achieving women, network, and celebrate success!
